On Sunday 26th April our world came crashing down, our precious baby girl Marni Sandra Johansen was born sleeping, just shy of 5 months pregnant her heart stopped beating. Thurston and Kalani were counting down to meet their little brother/sister and in a moment it was all taken away from us as our baby girl grew her wings and flew straight up to the stars. 

Going through this was something you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy. 

The staff at our local hospital really were amazing, the care we received was next level, our midwives Tara, Ally and Caitlin were something special and there are no words to describe how much they truely helped us. 

These cuddles cots are there to ensure you can spend as much time as you need with your little angel before your final goodbye, when we had Marni the 2 cuddle cots were not in working condition, 1 had a leak and the other was missing a part, so while the hospital did what they could to turn their bassinet into a cuddle cot for us we would love to be able to donate one in memory of Marni. These cots cost $6,500, we are hoping to raise enough money to donate one along with some of the comfort bags given to the families prior to the delivery. In the bags are a little teddy and this little teddy helped Thurston and Kalani go through this process with us, giving them something to cuddle and feel safe with.

A cuddle cot is a cooling system that lays beneath the baby within a bassinet. It enables families to keep their baby close and create beautiful memories, spending as much time as they wish with their baby, before saying goodbye. This reduces the worry or distress of separation to keep handing their baby back to hospital staff to be cooled in a traditional cooling room away from them.
