Story
On the 20th March 2018, our son Zachary Alkhal was born into our loving arms, and into the arms of heavens angels.
The trauma and heartbreak of losing our baby boy was overwhelming, but so was the love and support we received during this time.
One of the moments that we will cherish forever is the night we were able to spend with Zachary in our hospital room, thanks to the cuddle cot that was made available to us.
A cuddle cot is a cooling system that lays beneath the baby within a bassinet. It enables families to keep their baby close and create beautiful memories, spending as much as time as they wish without the worry or distress to keep handing their baby back to hospital staff to be cooled in a traditional cooling room away from them.
Unfortunately not all hospitals have these available, potentially forcing other heart broken parents to say a gut wrenching goodbye before they are ready to.
We are fundraising in honour of Zachary to fund a cuddle cot for a hospital. Our hope is to provide this same precious moments for another family who devastatingly finds themselves in this heartbreaking position.
We will always love and ache for our beautiful boy, however we have nothing but gratitude for all your love, support and prayers through this difficult time.

We provide exclusive and invaluable support programs that include a credible foundation of parent led and psychologist facilitated support groups, private online peer to peer support communities, phone, face to face, online and email counselling and annual community events that remember individual baby’s and recognize their parents love. Bears Of Hope comfort, acknowledge, inform, empower, and guide families during their time of loss and beyond.
As a registered non-profit organisation we are dedicated to the care of others and reinvesting our finances and resources to ensure the mental health needs and wellbeing of parents are being met and embraced for as long as as required.
