Story

Many families experience the loss of their baby in Australia each year. It is an incredibly heartbreaking and traumatic time for parents - a time when they require loving support and care.

I am fundraising for a cuddle cot to be donated to an Australian hospital, to support bereaved families in those crucial days after the loss of their baby.  A cuddle cot is a cooling system that lays beneath the baby within a bassinet. It enables families to keep their baby close and create beautiful memories, spending as much time as they wish with their baby, before saying goodbye. This reduces the worry or distress of separation to keep handing their baby back to hospital staff to be cooled in a traditional cooling room away from them.

When we had lost our angel Joseph Frederick  on the 14th of feburary 2019 our life came to standstill, our emotions were pushed to their limits, and our hearts ached!    We wanted as much time with our baby boy as we possibly could, before letting him go to be with God. Joseph's 3 brothers wanted to cuddle him kiss him and just be with him. The hospital I was in did not have a cuddle cot to use (it was broken) I needed to keep sending our gorgeous boy back to the cool room so that he would not deteriorate and his delicate skin wouldn't slip. This was a hard time because getting a midwife to get him back from the mortuary sometimes took 5hours which is precious time taken from a grieving family. These last moments are so special to a family. If we could at least take some good out of losing our angel Joseph it would be to help other mothers and families to get all the quality time they can with a baby that has gone straight to heaven and hopefully ease the pain by being able to have that significant bond with their baby

I would love you to help me reach this goal, supporting this cause by making a donation of any amount, and please feel free to leave a message of support.

God bless you and your family
