Theo's Legacy

Story

After the heartbreaking loss of our son Theo on 7/10/2020 who was born still at 26 weeks, we were provided with the greatest gift on our darkest day. Chris and I were given the gift of time with our precious son through the use of a Cuddle Cot.

A Cuddle Cot is a cooling system that lays beneath the baby within a bassinet. It enables families like us to keep their baby close and create beautiful memories together, spending as much time as they wish with their baby, before saying goodbye. These are the precious memories that both ourselves and other families will hold onto for the rest of our lives.

Sadly each day in Australia, six babies are stillborn and a further three babies die each day before reaching their first birthday. These figures do not include the precious babies who are stillborn before 20 weeks gestation. Every family deserves to have access to a cuddle cot however many hospitals in Australia do not have access to these precious devices. Donating a cuddle cot is how we can make a lifelong difference to other families who have had to say goodbye to their babies too soon.

In honour of our beautiful son Theo, we are fundraising for a Cuddle Cot to be donated to an Australian hospital, to support other bereaved families in those crucial days after the loss of their baby. Chris and I will be doing Theo's 20km Sunrise Walk of Honour Around The Bay to celebrate our son on his due date, Saturday the 16th of January, 2021!

We would love you to help us reach our goal of $6500, supporting this cause by making a donation no matter how big or small, and please feel free to leave a message of support and/or join us for 'Theo's 20km Sunrise Walk of Honour Around The Bay'.
