Story
RUNNING 40KM ACROSS 4 DAYS - 10KM FOR EACH DAY WE GOT TO HOLD OUR BABY
To help give other families something precious - time with their babies.

In November 2025, we unexpectedly lost our healthy baby girl, Elroi, during labour at 40wks+6 days. She was born sleeping, right on my birthday - giving me the gift of being a mother and also now a longing I'll carry forever.
We were fully prepared to come home as a family of three, but when our lives were turned upside down, we were faced with decisions and moments we never could have imagined.
Our time in hospital with our girl was both painful and sacred. Somehow, in the heartbreak, it it was the most special time of our lives- and a big part of that was because of a the cuddle cot the hospital provided, allowing us to spend as much time as we could with our sleepy girl.
A cuddle cot is a special cooling bassinet that helps to preserve a baby's condition and give families more time with their baby after they've passed away. Time to hold them, love them and say goodbye in their own way.
Because of a cuddle cot, we were given four precious days with our baby girl. Days filled holding her, singing to her, introducing her to loved ones and creating memories we'll cherish forever. It gave us the gift of time when we needed it most.
We've since learned that not every hospital has a cuddle cot, meaning some families don't get that same time.
So, in honour of our girl, we're raising $6,500 through Bears of Hope, to donate a cuddle cot to an Aussie hospital, funeral home or hospice in need- to give another family that same gift of time.
WE'LL BE RUNNING 40KM ACROSS 4 DAYS - 10KM FOR EACH DAY WE GOT TO HOLD HER.
And if we're honest... there was probably a time in our lives when we could've taken this on easily but right now we're very much not in running shape - so this really is us starting from scratch, building up step by step to be ready for our run in early June.
