Story

In April 2018 we experienced what no parent should,  the death of our beautiful little boy and first born Henry. In honour of Henry’s memory and our love for him, this year for his birthday we would like to raise money to purchase a cuddle cot to be donated to an Australian hospital.

A cuddle cot is a cooling system that lays beneath the baby within a bassinet. It enables families to keep their baby close and create beautiful memories, spending as much time as they wish with their baby, before saying goodbye. This reduces the worry or distress of separation to keep handing their baby back to hospital staff to be cooled in a traditional cooling room away from them.

There are currently 12 Australian hospitals on the wait list for cuddle cots, that means 12 hospitals where families are limited in the time they have to spend and say goodbye. With six families a day experiencing stillbirth and many more neonatal or infant death. These cuddle cots are so important

We were incredibly lucky to have access to a cuddle cot which had been donated by another bereaved parent allowing us time with Henry so that we could cuddle, grieve for and were able to bathe and dress him before leaving the hospital with the most broken hearts and empty arms, having the cuddle cot allowed us to make memories we are forever grateful for.

Many families experience the loss of their baby in Australia each year. Whether during pregnancy birth or through infant death. It is an incredibly heartbreaking and traumatic time for parents - a time when they require loving support and care.

We would love you to help us reach our goal, supporting this cause by making a donation of any amount, Feel free to leave a message of support.

To our greatest adventure our hardest goodbye, Henry, we love you little man you are our brightest star in the sky and hopefully by helping others we can make you proud. Forever ours beautiful boy.
