Help Us Honour Our Beautiful Little Boy - Everett Dean Carleton
Hi,
If you're here then you likely know that we (Chase & Kirsty) were expecting our second little boy to join us on the 9th of August.
However, on Wednesday, 8th August 2018, a day prior to our originally scheduled date for a planned cesarean, our little boy's heart rate became slightly erratic and he had to come early.
By noon Chase managed to leave work to get to Kirsty just as she went into the operating theatre.
But during the operation, there were unforeseen complications that changed everything and we lost our beautiful little boy.
It is the single most devastating day of our lives and an emptiness that is simply indescribable. In spite of this, we have been shown such an outpouring of love and support from those around us, that continues to pull us through each day.
We're now calling on those around us, to help us pay tribute to our little boy.
WHY WE WOULD LOVE YOUR HELP...
When we lost our boy we were in immediate shock and disbelief that this was happening. Our entire future changed in a matter of minutes. Everything we thought we would have as a family was gone and will never be the same.
We never got the chance to bring our boy home, but what we did get is to spend some of the most valued hours we've ever had in our lives, with him.
For roughly 24 hours we got to have Everett with us in our room. To hold him. To stare at his face, memorising every tiny little detail. To tell him how much his Mummy and Daddy adored him.
We got to take photos that we'll forever treasure.
They are the only moments we got to spend together, but they will be imprinted into our minds for the rest of our lives.
The main reason we were able to have this time together is because of a special device called a 'Cuddle Cot'.
A cuddle cot is a cooling system that lays beneath the baby within a bassinet. It enables families to keep their baby close and create beautiful memories, spending as much as time as they wish without the worry or distress to keep handing their baby back to hospital staff to be cooled in a traditional cooling room away from them.
We would like to honour our little boy, Everett Dean Carleton, by raising money to donate a Cuddle Cot to the hospital for future families (though we wish they would NEVER be needed) to use so that they too can cherish those moments like we did.
Everett's name will be engraved on a plaque and given in honour of the love that us, our family and friends will always have for him.
We would be immensely thankful for your support in this cause and any amount possible is appreciated.
To all our family and friends across the world, thank you for being there for us in our darkest hours.
We love you all.
- Chase & Kirsty
