Story
We kickstarted this fundraiser on 19/11/19, on the first birth day of our second daughter Kendra. We had a blissful 9 months of pregnancy with Kendra until right before her due date she stopped kicking, and an anxious trip to the hospital revealed our biggest fear, she had died in utero... out of nowhere. We discovered later that she had haemmorhaged her blood, spontaneously, massively and all likely within the space of 5 minutes. The cause for this is unknown. Kendra was born still into this world the day before her due date, and we were blessed enough to spend time with her because our hospital had a cuddle cot, which they only got a year prior, as a donation from a bereaved couple.
We are fundraising for a cuddle cot to be donated to an Australian hospital, to support bereaved families in those crucial days after the loss of their baby. A cuddle cot is a cooling system that lays beneath the baby within a bassinet. It enables families to keep their baby close and create beautiful memories, spending as much time as they wish with their baby, before saying goodbye. This reduces the worry or distress of separation to keep handing their baby back to hospital staff to be cooled in a traditional cooling room away from them.
We would love you to help us reach our goal in honour of Kendra, by making a donation of any amount, and please feel free to leave a message of support.
Love to you all xx
