In Memory Of Amari Peyton

Our story

From early on we were told the road to parent hood was never going to be easy for us, so you could imagine our surprise when we found out we were pregnant with twins in early October 2019. After a relatively smooth pregnancy, we were told at a routine check up at 31 weeks that Twin B had a bleed on her brain. Our world came crashing down around us with no one able to give us any answers. 

Our twin girls River and Amari, were born April of 2020. We had 27 days with Amari before she grew her wings peacefully in mums arms. We were so thankful to have had the precious time we did with Amari to make memories and be together as a family. 

Having a cuddle cot available to us when we were in the hospital allowed us to have much needed time with Amari after she passed. Having this time helped us to grieve and say goodbye. For us we believe every bereaved family should have the opportunity to access a cuddle cot if they so choose to.

When our goal is reached a  cuddle cot will be donated to an Australian hospital, hospice or funeral home in need of one, in honour of Amari.

A cuddle cot is a cooling system that lays beneath the baby within a bassinet. It enables families to keep their baby close and create beautiful memories, spending as much time as they wish with their baby, before saying goodbye.

Each day in Australia, six babies are stillborn and a further three babies die each day before their first birthday. These figures do not include the precious babies who are stillborn before 20 weeks gestation.
